The Cotton Patch supplies a number of tools to make appliqué easier - Clover Mini Iron, freezer paper, bias tape makers, pins, template plastic and pressing sheets.
Applique involves applying another layer of fabric onto your backing fabric to enhance the design or attach a motif or similar design. The cut out piece of applique can be applied using a backing fusible, such as Steam-a-seam 2, or you could hand stitch using the turned edge method. Please ask our staff for advice on applique methods and tools.

Using the Sizzix Big Shot and Big Shot Plus you can cut out intricate applique shapes using the Bigz dies. If you combine them with a fusible backing then you can quickly apply your shapes to decorate a wide variety of projects such as cushions, bags, aprons and pillows. We have a wide range of Sizzix applique dies on display and please ask for a demonstration. You can see our Sizzix applique dies on our online shop here.
